Are you planning on participating in your school’s STEM or Science Fair? APEGNB wants to help you!

In April of 2020, the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of New Brunswick will be celebrating 100 years of regulation in New Brunswick.

APEGNB has implemented a one-year initiative called The Year of the Engineer and Geoscientist to promote the engineering and geoscience professions to New Brunswick Anglophone and Francophone students.

As part of this initiative, we will have the APEGNB STEM Project Pitch Competition where students can submit a pitch video and receive a $100 grant to help fund their STEM project.

Grant winners will have a chance for additional technology prizes. They will also have a chance to present their project at the APEGNB 2020 Banquet on April 25th, 2020 in Fredericton.

Pitch Guidelines

  • Videos must be between 30 seconds to 2 minutes in length.

  • The video should describe your project and the materials you will need.

  • Strong pitches will have evidence of background research.

  • This is not a video competition but submissions should have clear video and good audio.

  • Students will be required to upload their video to YouTube and provide the link as part of their submission (students under 13 years old will need to use a Google Account of a parent, guardian, or teacher).

  • Videos must be submitted before November 30th, 2019.

  • The contest is open to all students in Anglophone and Francophone school districts across New Brunswick.

All grant applications submitted on this website will be reviewed by New Brunswick Engineers and Geoscientists. Grants will be distributed based on a first-come-first-serve basis. Only successful grant winners will be contacted.

Total grant amounts are based on an allocated fund. If grant funds have been depleted this website will be updated to reflect the status of the funding available. Maximum grant value per pitch is $100.

There will be two prize draws for all students who participate in the APEGNB STEM Project Pitch Competition.

  1. The first prize draw will be for all students who submit a pitch. The prize, a tablet, will be drawn on December 13, 2019.

  2. The draw for an additional prize will be open to all successful grant winners who submit a completed project report. The final product submissions must be entered on this website using Share Your Results by April 1, 2020. This prize will be a technology workstation package (laptop, printer, headphones, etc.). Draw date will be April 25th, 2020 at the APEGNB 2020 Banquet at the Delta in Fredericton, NB.

Share Your Results submission form will be available on March 1, 2020.
